Q: How do MediPendant® Medical Alert Systems work?
A: Simply push the button on the wearable pendant and talk to an operator through the pendant. The pendant operates like a two-way speaker phone.
Q: Who answers the call when I press the button?
A: Our emergency respones call center operators will answer the call. All operators are trained Emergency Medical Technicians, (EMTs). Our call centers are located in the USA and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q: Do I have to be near a base station to use the MediPendant®?
A: No, with MediPendant® you communicate directly through the PENDANT. You will hear the operator clearly, and be heard clearly through the PENDANT. This provides you more freedom to move in and around the home. With most other medical alert systems on the market today, you cannot really hear the operator over the base unit, nor can they hear you when you are outside or in a bathroom with the door closed.
Q: How far away can I be from the base station?
A: You can be up to 600+ feet from the base station. This gives you incredible range when compared to other medical alert systems. With other medical alert systems the range is limited by how loudly you can shout to be heard through the base unit - not so with MediPendant®
The MediPendant® also features a System test button on the PENDANT that lets you test everything, including the range, without calling the call center. The speaker in the Pendant announces the test results to you
Q: What happens if I accidentally press the emergency button?
A: You simply tell the Operator you are testing your system. We encourage you to test it that way at least every month. With other brands, it is too easy to accidentally press the button when you are not near the base unit and not know the base unit is summoning help.
Q: What happens if I can not speak?
A: Once the button on the pendant is pressed and a connection established, the call center is aware that there is an emergency and will take the proper steps to send help.
Q: Will my phone bill increase?
A: No, MediPendant® Medical Alert Systems use toll-free numbers
Q: What if I don't have phone service at my home?
A: MediPendant® Medical Alert Systems are available for you too. We can provide a system that utilizes Cellular phone services in your area. There may however be an additional charge for rthis solution that we can review with you when you order.
