I have trouble sleeping at night. No, I do not nap during the day either. I can fall asleep easily, but after two hours, I am wide awake again. ?????

Do you think it could be stress? When you lay down, do you have things on your mind. I just read where you will sell better in a completely dark room. Even the digital clock light can cause sleeping distractions.

If you are taking care of a loved one, the most important thing you can do is to take care of yourself first. Get to the bottom of why you can't sleep. Take time out for yourself. Do not be afraid to ask others for help. It does not have to be a relative; good friends might be eager to give you some time off. Take this time to do sometrhing you really enjoy and relaxes you. You will be surprised how much it helps.

I have been reading a lot lately about ways to sleep better. Some things I have tried and seem to work for me. A cooler room, a completely dark room, and no pj's. I had trouble with the no pj one, but after I tried it, it does work. The theory being less resists when you turn in your sleep. I have some things in my room that have digital number displays on them and they made a difference when I eliminated them. The room was really was a lot darker.

I have a friend whose mother could not sleep, so she started opening a window. The fresh air must do something because she sleeps better now.

Insomnia in the form of early-waking (as opposed to difficulty falling asleep) is often a sign of serious depression.

I had this issue earlier this year. Knowing the source of the problem, I was able to take steps to correct it.

my daughter was staying with me at night and could not sleep because she was worried that she would not hear me if I needed her in the middle of the night so we set up a baby monitor system. She can hear me loud and clear from the other bedroom now.
