Hi all, my mother is suffering from Type 2 diabetics for almost 2 years. At first, she tried to eat a healthy diet and tried to lose extra weight in order to control the blood sugar. She also performed exercises regularly.
However, all her efforts went in vain. She had to take multiple medications continuously for these 2 years. She also has high triglycerides and cholesterol. So, she is given medications for that too.
Lately, she started to develop foot problems which might be due to poor circulation( I guess). I don’t know the reason behind it properly. She says that she lost sensation in some parts of her feet. Yesterday, she hit her foot hard on the leg of the chair, but she didn’t even seem to be aware of it. She even had a minor cut on her feet which she didn’t even know.
I understood how severe her case was. I took an appointment immediately with our doctor and told him in detail about the problems my mother started to face lately. He told me to take her to a foot doctor orthotics in Mississauga. He said that she will be benefited if taken there. So, I booked an appointment there for next Monday. Has anyone with diabetic elders undergone this treatment? Did you benefit from this treatment? Please share your thoughts about this.
