My mom has undergone a cataract surgery yesterday. She is an Alzheimer's patient and she had washed her eyes unknowingly. I am worried. Will she lose her eyesight? Or will there be any other complications like an infection? I am taking her to an eye doctor in Sarnia tomorrow. But before that, I would like to know whether anyone here has gone through such situations. How to make Alzheimer's patients understand the importance of this surgery and it's aftercare? Please share your experience.

Well, yes, after the surgery, you should be careful when you wash your eyes. You should not let the water into your eyes, or it can be harm to your eyes and in some cases, it can lead to eye infection. Did you already take her to a doctor? How is she doing right now?

Any updates on your mom's condition? I hope she's fine already.
