I am at the end of my rope. I know, get someone to come in and take over for a while but not very many people want to be around my father. He is a stubborn person and if he doesn't want to take his meds, get a bath, eat, etc. it becomes a nightmare. He never wanted to go into a nursing home but I think I would do it if it was affordable. I am exhausted and don't know how much more I can take.

My wife and I have been taking one weekend a month just for us. We get a sibling and friends to take over and we get out of Dodge. It is working out pretty good. We have just enough time to get some much needed R and R

My sister helps her husband in caring for his elderly parents who live with them, and I wanted to do something special for her birthday. We knew she was getting a little burnout so went for a couple days visit and the evenings we "babysat" for them so they could go out and enjoy a few hours together. since they are strapped for cash, we bought them some restaurant and movie gift cards ahead of time. She was really appreciative and we felt good doing it for them. We wanted to share this as we felt it was a big hit.

I have BURNOUT, big time! I appreciate the tips and tools. I am really struggling to force myself to take time off, but it is hard to give up the feeling of responsibility and to ask someone for help since I do not have a full time job. They closest sibling is four hours away and I hate to ask her to make the trip. We can't afford to pay for any help. I think it may be time to call a family meeting and get all my siblings together.
